School Structure

Due to its small, nurturing size, our school is structured as follows:

  • Year 4-5 – Prep School (Key Stage 2)

  • Year 6-7 – Lower School (Key Stage 3)

  • Year 8-9 – Middle School (Key Stage 3)

  • Year 10-11 – Upper School (Key Stage 4)

  •

Our curriculum follows a two-year cycle to ensure that each pupil receives the full breadth of education before progressing to the next stage.

Advantages of Our Unique Structure:

  • Encourages continuity in learning, ensuring all pupils experience the full curriculum.

  • Helps develop adaptability and resilience as students work with different peer groups each year.

  • Supports social development by enabling students to collaborate with a variety of peers.

  • Allows for individualised learning support, as small class sizes mean more personalised attention.

  •

Important Note:

This structure is subject to change depending on student numbers and age groups each academic year. If any adjustments are necessary, we will communicate these in advance, ensuring you fully understand your child’s academic journey.

Assessments and Reporting

To ensure a balanced workload, students are given minimal homework, with independent study time during school hours. Staff are available to support students and answer questions.

Assessments are conducted at the end of each term to identify learning gaps, with a final year-end assessment providing a detailed progress report. These assessments are designed to support learning, without causing unnecessary pressure or stress.

Communication with teachers is welcome anytime, but officially:

  • Term 1: Face-to-face parents' evening.

  • Term 2: Progress report with focus areas and behaviour feedback.

  • Term 3: Final parents' evening and detailed year-end report, including assessment outcomes and predicted GCSE grades.

Parents will also receive a "What We Have Been Learning" update at the end of each half term.
